About this research seminar

The presentation describes an ongoing project that focuses on public attitudes towards violence. The central thesis is that the public understanding of what kind of behaviours constitute ‘Violence’ is expanding, to include many different acts that are not necessarily physically violent. We examine evidence for this idea by applying a topic modeling/word embeddings approach to newspaper articles between 2012-2021. We are currently in the process of analysing the data, and Katharina Krüsselmaan would like to share some preliminary results with the group.
