The Arsenaal building was renovated as part of the Humanities Campus. The renovation started in 2019 and was completed in early 2020. The exterior of the monumental 'Arsenaal' has been made more sustainable while remaining authentic. The interior has undergone a major transformation.
The Arsenaal was put into use at the beginning of the corona crisis by staff of the institutes LUCAS and LUCL. An official opening, as was the case with the P.J .Veth, was not possible at the time. The festive opening is planned for Monday 13 June at 16.00 hrs. The official opening ceremony will start at 16.30 sharp. The reception, opening ceremony and drinks will take place in the studio lounge of the Arsenaal.

During the drinks, there will be time to walk around, ask questions and have a look at the work environment. As you might know, the working environment of the Arsenaal is set up according to the rules of the new way of working, but not yet completely according to the new workplace norm. Meetings are no longer held in the work rooms, but in conference rooms that can be reserved. The work rooms are often shared. Employees could specify how many cabinets or bookshelves they wanted in their room. Read more about the new working environment at the Arsenaal.
