What is a Healthy Society and how do the 5 Institutes of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences contribute?

Do you want to get to know the work of your colleagues with regard to a Healthy Society and how you can collaborate to make an impact on societal wellbeing? Please join us at the Healthy Society Event on Thursday 9 June 2022.

Context

A Healthy Society is one of the main spearheads of the Strategic plan of the Leiden Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. A Healthy Society focuses on the development, implementation and evaluation of broad societal solutions to optimise health and wellbeing and to reduce health inequities. Within all institutes of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences colleagues work on several themes that contribute to a healthy society.

To optimise societal impact of this work, the Faculty collaborates with societal partners, such as the Municipality of Leiden. The Faculty and the Municipality have joined forces for the establishment of the Leiden Healthy Society Center, which will be the dynamic center for all Healthy Society initiatives by bringing together citizens, interdisciplinary researchers, teachers, policymakers and all other stakeholders. This is the occasion for the Faculty Healthy Society Taskforce to bring us together during this Healthy Society Event.

Aim

The aim of this event is to get to know and inspire each other. What is already out there and who is working on what? The goal is also to initiate and strengthen collaboration on a healthy society between the Institutes of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Also if you do not work on this theme yet, you are obviously very welcome to join.
