Flags of the EU and Ukraine

The Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February transformed European security and will have long term effects on relations between the European Union and its neighbouring states. In this roundtable we discuss how to understand the policies and priorities of Russia, as well as the distinct dilemmas and challenges facing Turkey in the context of the war. We further compare the perspectives of these states, as well as that of Ukraine, on the EU’s role and policies during the war. Finally, and in line with the inquiry into the EU’s role as seen from its neighbors, we consider the implications for the EU’s neighbourhood policy.
