This year, the annual Research Day of the National Research School for Literary Studies (OSL) will be held at Leiden University on Friday, October 7, and is organized by LUCAS-members Maria Boletsi and Frans-Willem Korsten.

The full program can be found here and is open to researchers by registration (with priority for OSL members, RMA and PhD students).

The Research Day aims to celebrate and cultivate OSL’s sense of community, and hopes to stimulate more collaboration between literary scholars and existing research groups in the Netherlands. While literature is a primary focus, OSL explicitly encourages multidisciplinary research, which is also clearly reflected in the diverse program of the Research Day. The programme will combine plenary sessions with a series of panels organized by OSL research groups. It features, among other things, a roundtable discussion with Sara Polak and Boris Noordenbos on mobilizations of the past & future in post-truth rhetoric and conspiracy cultures and a keynote lecture by Sundhya Walther (University of Manchester) on “Multispecies Modernity and The Future(s) of The Environmental Humanities.”

To attend the Research day (or parts of the program), you can register via the OSL website.

PLEASE NOTE: When registering, please indicate (under ‘Remarks’): 1) Which panels/sessions you would like to attend; 2) Whether you would like to attend the event onsite or online as there will be a hybrid option for most parts of the programme.
