Our aim is to help Humanities students become more aware of the skills they acquire during their studies by making these skills more visible in the curriculum. How can we do this? On Tuesday 8 November we are offering a short training session for our teaching staff, based on the results of ASSET-H, a joint research project of Leuven, Leiden and Helsinki.
'How can I help my students to recognise their unique skills on the labour market?' 'How can we make the skills of Humanities students more visible in the curriculum?' In the workshop we help teacher/researchers to translate Humanities skills more explicitly into their course design: not by asking them to include additional or generic skills in their classes, but rather to express more clearly the precise skills they impart on the basis of their disciplinary focus.
Practical information
This workshop will take place on Tuesday 8 November, 11.00 - 13.00, and is suitable for all teaching staff in the Faculty of Humanities. The workshop will be presented by our colleagues from KU Leuven. A limited number of places are available.

About the project
In the Erasmus+ project ASSET-H (project page in Dutch), we work closely with our colleagues in the Faculty of Arts at KU Leuven, the Faculty of Arts at the University of Helsinki and the Randstad employment agency (Belgium). The aim of the project is to offer our students more insight into the skills they acquire during their studies, and the importance of these skills for the labour market. The project’s full title is ‘Awareness of Students’ Skills: an Employability Toolkit for the Humanities’ (ASSET-H).
