Boosting conversations and collaborations between anthropologists and political scientists

Besides exploring how and where anthropology and political science meet, and to what effect, it is also a way to boost conversations and collaborations between Leiden-based anthropologists with an interest in politics and the political, and Leiden/The Hague based political scientists who work with ethnography or otherwise engage with anthropological themes and theories.

Programme

The roundtable will start with three short presentations in which presenters share their views on and experiences of combining political science and anthropological perspectives and methods, and then opens up to a discussion with everyone present.

Speakers are Matt Longo (Political Science), who writes on ethnography and political science, Shivant Jhagroe (FGGA), who does critical policy studies through ethnography, and Anouk de Koning (CADS), whose new projects try to theorise sociopolitical worlds starting from ethnography and anthropological theory. The roundtable is moderated by Francesco Ragazzi (Political Science).

Drinks

Drinks are served afterward in Anthropology's Kitchen on the third floor.

This Roundtable is open and free for all.
