Summary

This thesis is focused on investigation of label-free detection of single molecules and proteins. We use high-speed optoplasmoinc method to detect diffusing single particles and molecules. We provide a measurement of the optoplasmonic bio-detection as an assay to probe the response of plasmonic nanostructures by changes in their dielectric environment. We also record dark-field scattering bursts of individual gold nanorods, freely diffusing in water suspension. We have performed the measurement and analysis with high enough statistics.

PhD dissertations

Approximately one week after the defence, PhD dissertations by Leiden PhD students are available digitally through the Leiden Repository, that offers free access to these PhD dissertations. Please note that in some cases a dissertation may be under embargo temporarily and access to its full-text version will only be granted later.
