This year we are inviting you to celebrate International Women’s Day with us; what is working well, and what is next?
International Women's Day is celebrated every year around the world on March 8. It is an important day in the women's rights movement and to highlight the importance of women's rights. During this meeting we reflect on what the university has achieved with regard to an inclusive gender policy, its challenges and implications and the next steps on what else is needed to bring structural change. What can we learn from the different experiences of female colleagues? What does it take to be in a leadership position? What are the expectations and the obstacles in pursuing a career in universities today? Together with the president of the Executive Board Annetje Ottow, Professor and Dean Sarah de Rijcke and Executive Director Faculty of Humanities Saskia Goedhard, you are invited to join the conversation on these questions, have the opportunity to connect, reflect, listen and share personal experiences and most importantly; discuss the next steps create a more inclusive community where all women belong. An informal gathering where female staff members of all ranks are invited, the meeting is aimed to foster connection and contribute to the forming of networks of solidarity and support within the university.
This event will take place on Friday 8 March 2024, 15:00 – 17:00 hrs at the Faculty Club in the Academy Building where we will end with a reception.
