Spring Workshop: Exploring the Gap between Embodied Cognition and Generative AI
We warmly invite you to participate in our upcoming Spring Workshop, Exploring the Gap between Embodied Cognition and Generative AI, jointly organised by the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society (LUCAS) and the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) with support of Leiden University Kiem grant for interdisciplinary collaboration.
This workshop will investigate the evolving impact of generative artificial intelligence on human creativity across society, with a particular focus on the underexplored relationship between AI and embodied cognition—especially as expressed through movement, gesture, and sensory experience. To enrich our exploration, the programme will feature a keynote talk and an immersive embodied exercise led by Petra Gemeinboeck, as well as presentations by Peter van der Putten, Marianne Bossema, and Tom Kouwenhoven. Following the presentations, an interactive workshop session will be held, aimed at fostering diverse perspectives, uncovering interrelations, and addressing points of friction.
