On Thursday afternoon, 18 September 2025, Dr Sophie van Rijn, Associate Professor at the Institute of Education and Child Studies, Leiden University, will be honoured. She will be presented with the Betto Deelman Prize. You are cordially invited to attend.
The award ceremony will take place from 13:30–16:00 in the Orangerie of the Hortus Botanicus of Leiden University, Rapenburg 73, Leiden (lectures starting at 14:00). Following the ceremony, a reception will be held at the Faculty Club at the same address. Attendance is free of charge.
On the occasion of the award, lectures will be given by Professor Dr Wouter Staal (Professor of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Radboud UMC and Karakter, and Professor of Autism, Leiden University), and Dr Kimberly Kuiper (Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Leiden University Treatment and Expertise Centre, LUBEC).
The Deelman Prize will then be presented by Dr Alex Knipping, Chair of the Board of the Dutch Foundation for Neuropsychology. Finally, Sophie will give a lecture on her work. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to congratulate her personally. Please see the attached programme for details.
