On Monday 3 November, Bob SaumCountry Director for Ukraine at the World Bank, will visit the Wijnhaven Campus! The World Bank provides crucial financial resources, knowledge, and expertise to stabilize Ukraine’s economy, facilitate reconstruction, and support reforms.

Bob Saum will talk about the vital role of the World Bank in supporting and rebuilding Ukraine and share his vision and expectations. What makes the World Bank’s commitment—now totaling over 81 billion dollars—so valuable? How does the Bank mobilize these funds? And how does cooperation with a country at war proceed? Afterwards he will answer questions from the audience.

The session will be moderated by Professor Bert Koenders, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, professor at Leiden University, and World Bank Special Envoy for Fragility. The closing remarks will be given by Joost Klarenbeek, Special Envoy for Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We warmly invite you to this event on this timely and important topic. Bring your questions, as we will engage in an interactive conversation together!
