This discussion, based around two recent books, explores questions of how we run and how we view running as a kind of embodied or disembodied practice.

Speakers

  • Manola Pierson's book, <Run_A_Way> (RSP, 2025), is a speculative look at running in an era of hype, data, and intrusive technologies.
  • Lindsey A Freeman's book, Running, part of the Duke University Press "Practices' series, explores DIY and punk attitudes, imagining running through a lens of queer ethics and ethos.
  • Jasmijn Rana is writing a book on the experience of recreational running among Muslims.
  • Andy Fuller is the host of Everyday Runners Podcast and founder of Reading Sideways Press.
