Over the coming years, Health & Well-being will take centre stage as one of Leiden University’s interfaculty profiling themes. Through our research and teaching, we strive to advance inclusive, equitable, and sustainable health(care) and well-being for all members of society. Bringing together researchers from across disciplines, the programme aims to stimulate new collaborations, strengthen existing networks, and create fresh opportunities for research, education, and societal impact.
To help shape this community, the steering group led by Jet Bussemaker (Governance and Global Affairs/Health Campus), and further consisting of Marieke Adriaanse (Sociale Wetenschappen/Health Campus), Jessica Kiefte-de Jong (LUMC/Health Campus), Marco Spruit (Science/Health Campus), Paul van Trigt (Humanities) and Sarah Schrader (Archaeology), will help build activities and foster connections across the university.
Whether your work already focuses on Health & Well-being or you are curious about how your research could contribute to this theme, we warmly invite you to join our kick-off meeting on Monday 28 September, 15:00–17:00, followed by drinks until 18:00, in Leiden. The exact location and programme will be announced soon.
At this kick-off event, we will introduce the aims and ambitions of the Health & Well-being theme and showcase inspiring examples of the excellent interdisciplinary research that is already taking place across Leiden University and the LUMC. There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and contribute to the further development of the theme. The event will also be an excellent opportunity to expand your network, meet colleagues from across the university, and discover the many different ways in which they engage with Health & Well-being.
For now, please save the date. We would also be grateful if you could forward this invitation to colleagues and societal partners who might be interested in becoming part of our Health & Well-being community.
More details will follow in the second part of August.
