During this evening, you will learn all the ins and outs of the Relief of Leiden. What makes this celebration so unique? What is its origin? And what are the best tips for celebrating? What is the link between Leiden University and this celebration?
The evening takes place in the building of the 3 October Vereeniging – the volunteer organization that organizes this largest folk festival every year.
Where better than in their association building to hear the best tips on how to best celebrate the Relief of Leiden?
It will be an evening full of variety, where you will learn all about the history and also hear and see how this history is still reflected in Leiden and the surrounding area.
You will not only learn but also experience why hutspot is part of the Relief of Leiden: this evening includes a hutspot meal (vegan/meat).
Participation in this evening includes not only hutspot, but also a drink AND a one-year membership of the 3 October Vereeniging.
With this, you can, among other things, join the largest hutspot meal in Europe and the surrounding area on October 2 at the Hooglandse Kerkgracht, and you can pick up your portion of Herring and White Bread on October 3. We look forward to seeing you all at this convivial evening!
