Corinne Dettmeijer-Vermeulen, former Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children, has been appointed Cleveringa professor 2018-2019 by Leiden University.

She will accept her professorship by delivering her Cleveringa lecture:

About Corinne Dettmeijer-Vermeulen

Throughout her career Dettmeijer-Vermeulen (69) has dedicated herself to protecting victims and prosecuting offenders. As the National Rapporteur from 2006 to the end of 2017, she reported to the government on the nature and extent of human trafficking and sexual violence against children in the Netherlands. She monitored the effects of government policies and made recommendations aimed at improving its approach to combating these crimes Dettmeijer-Vermeulen is now a member of the Expert Advisory Board of the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery.
