Leiden Terra Incognita Lecture

The Leiden Terra Incognita Lecture is an annual lecture organized by the research programme 'Colonial and Global History 1200-Present' of the Institute for History at Leiden University.

The lectures have the aim to explore the historiographical frontiers of the field of colonial and global history. The previous Terra Incognita speakers were Pekka Hämäläinen (2019), Cyrus Schayegh (2021) and Kapil Raj (2022). The speaker for the 2023 lecture is Emma Flatt. The lecture for 2024 (December) will be delivered by Ruth Bush (University of Bristol).
