Life-course Savings Scheme

The Life-course Savings Scheme allows you to save for unpaid leave at a fiscal advantage. The Life-course Savings Scheme has been closed to new participants since 2012.

The Life-course Savings Scheme allows you to put aside a monthly portion of your gross income. The University deposits this money in a special life course account. You may also save your holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, additional bonuses or any other incidental income. The money you save via the your life course scheme can be used to finance unpaid leave.

Phasing out of Life-course Savings Scheme

As of 1 January 2012, the Life-course Savings Scheme is no longer open to new participants. You can continue to save money in this scheme if the balance on your life course account was € 3,000 or more as of 31 December 2011. For more information on the phasing out of the Life-course Savings Scheme, see the Belastingdienst website (Dutch only).
