Find a coach

Are you looking for a coach? If so, you’re welcome to contact one of the university’s internal or external coaches; you can do this directly yourself, after choosing a coach who seems suitable.

Are you a staff member of LUMC? LUMC has its own career center that provides career guidance. More information.

Are you a student? The coaching offered on this page is exclusively for staff members of Leiden University. However, the University also has extensive career guidance for students, see Career Services for more information.

Internal coaches

Leiden University’s professional coaches offer individual coaching and career guidance. View the profiles below to read more about the focus areas of each coach. If you’d like to make an appointment, please send an email to coaching@bb.leidenuniv.nl.

Are you a PhD candidate or postdoc? Then you can request a free consultation and 3 to 5 meetings with an internal career coach (this does not apply to external PhD candidates).

Ine is an experienced career professional and coach who can help you improve your resilience and discover your talents, motivators and interests – and what careers suit these – and how to become more effective in your work. More about Ine and how to contact her.

Marieke is a career coach who can help you get a clear picture of what you want and what is important to you in your work. She will work with you to explore how you can get closer to your goal. More about Marieke and how to contact her.

Kick has extensive experience in academia and is a career and personal effectiveness coach. He can help you get a grip on difficult situations by gradually exploring the sticking points in your work. He can also help you discover your motivators and talents, and figure out what jobs will suit you. More about Kick and how to contact him.

External coaches

You can schedule a free, no-obligation introductory session with each of the coaches. If you ‘click’ with a coach, there will be an intake interview to clarify your coaching needs and what kind of programme you want. The coach will then send a price quotation, which must be approved by your manager/HR adviser.

If you need some help with choosing, you can fill in this form to further specify your needs and then read the following coach profiles carefully.

About the coach

Florien: ‘I’m an alumna of Leiden University, having graduated with a degree in Chemistry in 2007. I then worked at Delft University of Technology for three years, where I gained a sense of the complex relationships within a university. My science background taught me to think in a solution-oriented and analytical way, which gives me a good rapport with people who also think along similar lines.

Whether your problem relates to being effective in your current work or gaining a perspective on other work, the solution is always situated in a different area than the problem itself. We explore the problem and its context together, and use a targeted approach to tackle it.’

Florien has a great deal of experience with coaching university staff members, including trainees, PhD candidates, study advisers, IT specialists and associate professors. She has NOLOC certification.

Make an appointment

Florien coaches on-site in Delft, close to the station; in Leiden, adjacent to Leiden Lammenschans station; and, in consultation, at Leiden University. You can also make an appointment for online coaching. Florien speaks Dutch and English.

You can contact Florien by sending an email to info@frisperspectief.nl or calling 06-15060431. You can also view her website and LinkedIn profile.
