Courses, coaching and career guidance

University Leiden encourages its employees to use and develop their talents. We do this by supporting you in your career and in your personal and professional development. We try to ensure that you get the opportunity to realise your full potential.

Courses offered

The university offers a wide range of training courses. For instance on the development of your leadership skills. Or special programmes for PhD candidates and postdocs.

Maybe you want to optimise your didactic skills. As a teacher, you have several ways to continue qualifying yourself in teaching. The University offers the University Teaching Qualification (Basis Kwalificatie Onderwijs, BKO) and the Senior Teaching Qualification (Senior Kwalificatie Onderwijs, SKO).

Do you want to improve and innovate education? Maybe the Teachers’ Academy is something for you.

At work, we learn by sharing knowledge with our colleagues and taking courses. However, that can be difficult now that most of us are working from home. For this reason, HRM Learning & Development is also offering online training courses. Are you keen to continue developing your knowledge and skills, for example, in the areas of Communication, Creative Thinking, Focus or Personal Leadership? Then take a free New Heroes online training course via the university. You will find them in the list of courses on the staff website; simply select ‘e-learning’ in the Method section. You can start the courses straight away. Log in using your Leiden University email address under ‘Log in’, and then with your ULCN account (you will be redirected for this).

With its innovative and interactive elements, online learning is not only fun, but also very practical. From e-learning to e-doing!
