Management and administration
The University has seven faculties and a campus in both Leiden and The Hague. Each faculty is managed by a faculty board, which is chaired by a dean.
The Executive Board is responsible for the efficient and effective management of Leiden University. The Board of Governors monitors the Executive Board and appoints its members. The Executive Board regularly consults the University Council, which advises the Executive Board and has a say in important matters and decisions. The Executive Board and the faculty deans consult in the Management Board, and the deans also have their own consultation structure: the Board of Deans, which is chaired by the Rector Magnificus. Both the Administration and Central Services department and the Service units support the Executive Board in managing Leiden University.
