Dr. Niels Laurens as new Executive Director at FGGA and FdA
On Tuesday September 8th, the Executive Board of Leiden University appointed Dr. Niels Laurens as Executive Director at the faculties of Governance and Global Affairs and Archaeology.
This combined position has been filled ad interim by Jacqueline Schut during the past 9 months. Both faculty boards are very grateful to Jacqueline for her efforts over the past months, which meant a lot of extra work due to the measures related to the coronavirus.
Niels Laurens will work 3 days a week for FGGA and 2 days for the Faculty of Archaeology. He will start working for FGGA on September 15 and start working for FdA on November 1.
Niels Laurens has been working at Leiden University as an institute manager at the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) since 2015 and became a project leader at the University-wide Leiden Research Support programme in 2019. Before that he worked in both research and management at the VU University and Philips Research. Niels Laurens studied Physics at Leiden University.
The faculty boards of FGGA and FdA are very pleased with the appointment of Niels Laurens.
