Pim Overgaauw appointed Institute manager of the Mathematical Institute
As of 1 September, Pim Overgaauw is appointed as Institute Manager of the Mathematical Institute. The job is not new to him, as he has been ad interim institute manager since March 2022. For now, Overgaauw will be working for the MI three days a week, but it is expected that this can be extended to a full-time position in the autumn.
Pim Overgaauw studied Astronomy at Leiden University. After that, he held many different positions at our university, in the areas of education, information security and project management.

The Faculty Board is very happy with the new director. Executive Director Suzanne van der Pluim: ‘Pim is an asset to the MI and to the Faculty. With his broad background and knowledge of the University, Pim is a great addition to the knowledge already present. He is also a great colleague. I look forward to our collaboration.’
