Renovation of South Cluster is well underway: photo report
Concrete pillars without a roof, windows without glass, storeys without walls. It’s clearly evident that the South Cluster is being dismantled. Take a look at the photos!
The most striking feature of the current construction situation is the demolition: no roof, no walls, no windows; and some of the distinctive concrete pillars have even been sawn down.
Basement
In the basement, some of the construction work for the new building has already been completed. Additional walls have been built to strengthen the load-bearing structure, and there is now a shaft for the lift that will take you directly into the building from the parking garage. The loud drilling taking place in the basement is part of the work on the ramp for the entrance of the bicycle parking garage.
No summer recess for the construction work
We expect that the middle building will be completely demolished using a massive grab machine at the beginning of July. Then the slab floors and façade cladding will be delivered, making it possible to build the storeys and cover the façades. The construction work will continue throughout the summer. The South Cluster is scheduled to open in 2024. Click here for more information about the development of the Humanities Campus.
