Jan Vleggeert on Irish meat company that used the Netherlands to evade taxes

The Irish meat magnate Larry Goodman is under scrutiny: he is thought to have evaded taxes by using a Dutch company, among other things.

The company involved is Trojaan Investering BV, situated in Rotterdam. According to the Irish newspaper The Irish Times, Goodman’s beef company ABP has channeled profits through this company.

In the Irish Times, Jan Vleggeert, Professor of Tax Law, discussed the case. Until recently, many large international corporations made use of the Dutch tax system, according to Vleggeert. But recent measures by the Dutch Government have made that possibility much more difficult.
