Jelly Reinders new head OSZ Humanities

On 1 August, Jelly Reinders was appointed head of the Education and Student Affairs (OSZ) department at the Faculty of Humanities. ‘It's a wonderful continuation of my career after some fantastic and interesting years at VU University Amsterdam.'

Jelly studied German and Theology at VU University Amsterdam. After a career in education, both at home and abroad, she completed the Master's in Educational Management and made the switch to educational management in a university setting. She was, among other things, chairperson of the works council of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) and has more than 20 years' experience in management. In the past five years, after a change process, Jelly worked on building up the Student-oriented Support domain at the VU. Until her move to Leiden University, she was head of the Education Office of the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Religion and Theology at the same university.

'Partner in the educational process'

Jelly is most looking forward to working with all the partners involved within the University. ‘In a short space of time, I have come to know many capable people who care deeply about the organisation, and have seen that a lot has already been achieved in the recent past. This offers excellent starting points to build further. I’m sure I will be able to use my expertise and experience to help create a broad vision of university and faculty services and work on professionalising them even further.’
