10,000 euro interdisciplinary call: visit our event on 17 May

In the coming months, the university will make funds available to young Leiden researchers who want to start small-scale interdisciplinary initiatives. These so-called KIEM funds are earmarked for up to 22 projects of €10,000 each. During an interdisciplinary event on Wednesday 17 May, you can get the latest information about the call at a special ‘KIEM stand’.

At the moment, not all details about the KIEM initiative are known yet; the Executive Board is finalising all preconditions and set-up. In any case, it is clear that this is a call for small-scale interdisciplinary initiatives (such as proposals for small research projects or meetings) that will start before this summer. The KIEM funds are intended for:

- Proposals leading to interdisciplinary research - or meetings between at least two faculties;

- In part for Leiden researchers who are at the beginning of their careers and have received their PhDs no more than eight years ago;

- Research proposals involving at least two researchers from at least two faculties (LUMC also counts as a faculty);

Want to know more about this call? Or maybe you already have a great idea for an interdisciplinary project but don't know with whom you could collaborate? On Wednesday 17 May, Leiden will host an internal interdisciplinary event where a ‘KIEM stand’ will also be present to help you further. Moreover, during this occasion you can meet nine Leiden interdisciplinary research programmes to get contacts and further ideas. Look here for more information and possibility to register.
