Living room KOG: a space to relax and connect
The Student Living Room at the KOG will soon officially open its doors. All Leiden Law School staff and students are welcome to come and see this new space during the official opening event on Tuesday 23 May at 12.00 hrs. A free lunch will be provided for all, we’ll raise a toast with a glass of bubbles, and you can even relax and play a game!
No studying allowed
The Living Room is intended as a space for relaxation and connection and is an explicit no-study zone for Dutch and international students. It has a cupboard full of board and card games as well as drawing and painting materials, and magazines are available to browse through. Students can sit at the long table or catch up on the large couch or one of the armchairs.
Above the couch, a large artwork will be hung which has been made by a group of creative students from Leiden Law School. The makers hope their painting will motivate students to take a break from studying and relax.
Peer Support
During weekdays between 12.00 and 16.00, a Peer Support Student will be present in the living room. These peers are committed to the well-being of their fellow students. They can lend an ear to those who need it and inform their fellow students about assistance the university can offer regarding well-being.
The living room will be used as a multifunctional space. Faculty events and workshops can be organised that are connected in some way to diversity & inclusion and improving student well-being. In addition, the space can be reserved by student associations and teaching staff if the purpose of the event concerns D&I or student well-being and is open to Leiden Law School students.
