Organising an event about AI? Ask SAILS for help

AI has applications in all kinds of fields. Would you like to organise an event on the possibilities of AI in your research field? The Leiden interdisciplinary research programme SAILS offers you experts on content, money and other support.

Within Leiden University, the interdisciplinary research programme SAILS already supported several mini-symposia in the field of AI. A few are scheduled again in the near future, see below for more information. SAILS would also be happy to support you in organising an event on the application of AI. Want to know more about the possibilities? Then please contact Mischa Hautvast.

26 May – Artificial Intelligence in Astrophysics

Computer scientists are looking for application areas for their research, astronomers are looking for solutions to data-intensive problems. During this interactive symposium, both worlds will meet.

About SAILS

The Leiden University SAILS Initiative (Society Artificial Intelligence and Life Sciences) is a university-wide network of AI-researchers from all seven faculties: Law, Science, Archaeology, Social Sciences, Humanities, Governance and Global Affairs, and Leiden University Medical Centre.

Our view on AI is human-centered, focusing on the fair and just use of AI in and for society. We aim to expand knowledge of AI and its uses for the benefit of society as a whole, in order to help withstand the challenges it is facing. We are convinced that this can only be achieved by bringing together talents and insights from all scientific disciplines. SAILS researchers collaborate in interdisciplinary research projects, share their knowledge, inspire others at events, and educate our students to be the AI-professionals of the future. Because at Leiden University we believe the future of AI is human.
