Merei Huigsloot new head of the LACDR Education Office

Merei Huigsloot will be appointed as the new head of the Education Office of LACDR from September 1. She will be responsible for the organisation and coordination of all education-related activities for the bachelor programme Bio-Farmaceutische Wetenschappen and master programme Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Ten years ago, the Education Office was established at LACDR in response to a significant increase in student enrollment. This growth necessitated improved organization and coordination of our educational programmes, enhanced study guidance for students, and a designated point of contact for staff inquiries related to courses and students. The formal establishment of the Education Office has greatly contributed to raising awareness in the institute about the crucial role of the team in supporting both teachers and learners at LACDR.

Since its establishment, we have experienced continuous growth in student and staff numbers, along with increased demands in the realm of education logistics. Up until now, the Education Office has been led by the Programme Directors. However, to further professionalize the LACDR Education Office, it has been decided that a professional with expertise in organizational and educational coordination should assume leadership as head of the LACDR Education Office.

Following our regular application procedure for this new position, LACDR MT wants to announce that Merei Huigsloot has been hired to fulfill this important role. Merei has been an integral part of the LACDR Education Office since its establishment and has extensive experience in coordinating educational processes. In her new role, Merei will report to the Institute Manager of LACDR.

We sincerely hope that the new structure will further improve our education support and also help to relieve the work pressure among all colleagues. A new vacancy has been created to succeed Merei's current role as education coordinator.
