
Delegation from Nagasaki University visits Leiden University
A delegation from Nagasaki University visited Leiden University at the end of May. Ikematsu Kazuya, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Nagasaki University, presented an award to Professor of Pathology Pancras Hoogendoorn for his contribution to medical research.
Leiden University and Nagasaki University have collaborated in medicine, language studies and Japanese Studies for decades. Japanese Studies and International Studies students from Leiden spend a semester in Nagasaki, for example, and students from Nagasaki come to Leiden to take Dutch Studies. During the visit, the two universities discussed whether they can intensify their research and teaching collaboration.
Pancras Hoogendoorn was also presented with an award by Nagasaki University for his support of the Nagasaki University School of Medicine and significant contributions to the development of medical research and teaching.
