Joëlle Koning is Head of Student Affairs, Faculty of Humanities from 1 July

Joëlle Koning has been appointed as Head of Student Affairs (OSZ) in the Faculty of Humanities from 1 July.

As an alumnus, Joëlle started her career in 2010 as the study coordinator for BA Classics. A few years ago, she became Head of Education Logistics. In this role, she managed the Education Coordination team and worked on education preparation for all the study programmes in the faculty. She is therefore a familiar face to many people.

During the more long-term absence of the previous Head of Student Affairs, Joëlle offered to fulfil the role on an interim basis, accomplishing this with great skill over the past academic year. When the previous Head recently announced that she was leaving, Joëlle decided to apply. Both of the committees involved in the selection gave unanimous, positive advice on Joëlle’s appointment.

Joëlle: ‘After several years of working with great enjoyment in various Student Affairs teams, I’m now looking forward to making a contribution in this role to a future-proof department and a pleasant, open work environment. We’re facing some serious challenges, but also some excellent opportunities, and it will be a pleasure to approach them with all Student Affairs staff and our colleagues in education, in the belief that together we can achieve a great deal.’

Saskia Goedhard, Executive Director: ‘I’m very pleased that Joëlle applied for the position of Head of Student Affairs and that she is now a permanent member of the Operational Management team. In addition to her great expertise in the area of educational affairs, the Board observed that there was also a lot of support for Joëlle in this role, both within the department and throughout the faculty. I’m looking forward to working further with her in the future, and wish her every success.’

An announcement will be made at a later date on who will be appointed to the position of Head of Education Logistics.
