Marcella van den Bos, new Board Secretary: 'I love organising things well and creating an overview.'
As of May 11, Marcella van den Bos starts as Board Secretary: 'I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and becoming part of the Institute of Psychology. I think it would be wonderful to contribute to an environment where education and research come together and to be able to make a real difference there from my role.'
From Amsterdam UMC to the Institute of Psychology
Marcella van den Bos (40) lives with her partner Michael and their two sons, Arthur (6) and Oscar (almost 4), in Alphen aan den Rijn. After fourteen years at Amsterdam UMC, where she gained a lot of experience as a secretary, she is now making the switch to the Institute of Psychology.
From her previous position she brings a lot of experience in supporting the board and organization, liaising between different stakeholders, and a keen eye for detail. Colleagues who know her well describe Marcella as committed, reliable, and structured. Marcella: 'I love creating an overview and organizing things well.'
Free time
In her free time, Marcella likes to be active: 'Outside of work hours, I enjoy sports and traveling, and I can often be found at a cozy dinner or drinks with family and friends. Additionally, I have a passion for interior styling and design. We moved within Alphen aan den Rijn a year ago, so I can still fully indulge myself at home. Although my house is actually never finished!'
A successful workday
Marcella looks back on her workday with satisfaction when she feels she has truly been able to contribute something, for example by making work easier for others or taking steps forward together: 'If there is also room for a good conversation or a bit of humor, then my day is completely perfect. I look forward to applying my knowledge and energy within the Institute of Psychology and getting to know new colleagues better.'
