MatLab

MathWorks has provided Leiden University with a temporary campus licence to use MatLab online or at home. The licence includes MatLab, Simulink and all the toolboxes. The licence is free to all students and staff at the University, for both teaching and research. The licence works with Windows 10, Linux and Mac. You can download and install the software on your own laptop/desktop or use MatLab online. Different versions of the software are available. Find out which version you currently use to avoid any compatibility problems. The version that is now available within NUWD is R2018b; the latest version is R2020a. The program also gives you access to a range of tutorials for remote teaching.  Instructions on downloading and installing MatLab Support via the ISSC Helpdesk.

SPSS

You can order SPSS through SURFspot for €10. If you are a lecturer, you can submit an expense claim for this. The application then becomes the property of the University. Contact and support via the IT contact person.

Wooclap

In 2022, the university started rolling out Wooclap: a tool for polls, quizzes, word clouds and creative interactive presentations. With Wooclap, students can use their own phone, laptop or tablet to answer questions or respond to statements during lectures or seminars. You can find all the latest information about Wooclap, including how to create an account and how to use it, on the Remote Teaching Support website. If you have any questions, you can also contact your faculty ICT support desk. Please note: the university license for the online voting tool Presenterswall expired on 1 January 2023.
