Plagiarism detection
Plagiarism is a violation of someone else's intellectual property. Leiden University stands for integrity and reliability in the way our researchers conduct research, and we consider plagiarism to be a serious offence.
Plagiarism is an infringement of copyright because (parts of) someone else's work is used without proper citation. It is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. Plagiarism can be deliberate, but it can also happen unconsciously.
