From 1 June 2020, promotions can be held again with a limited number of physical attendees. The promotions will be held in the Small Auditorium of our Academy Building. We understand that there are many questions about this and that there is much uncertainty, particularly for PhD candidates and postdocs with contracts that can no longer be extended. However, our university cannot decide on this alone. We are in negotiations with the other Dutch universities (within the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU)) and the Dutch government about what to do about research projects that have funding for a fixed period and have been delayed by coronavirus. If you have any financial questions about your project, please contact your project controller/account manager within the faculty.

In this time of crisis in which we work from home, everyone follows the normal work pattern as much as possible, and the same applies to time recording. If you have any questions about time recording, please contact your project controller/account manager within the faculty.
We understand that this can cause uncertainty, but this is not something that the University can decide on. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) is currently considering the options.

Until further notice, the general rule is that everyone will work from home. This is following the guidelines of the Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). Exceptions are possible in a number of cases: for critical processes and vital services such as animal care, corona-related research, long-term lab research that cannot be discontinued without major loss of data and the operation of crucial research equipment. The Dean for which research such an exception can be made.
Research that will help fight coronavirus will be facilitated as much as possible, with due observance of the safety regulations. In all cases, appropriate safety measures will be taken, such as access control, attendance registration and limiting the number of people per room.
