Script: creating a three column script

In preparation of your video production it is recommended to create a three-column script, which consists of the following:

  1. Visual Material: In the left column you will note which images and bullet points you would like to appear
  2. Audio/ Speech: in the middle column you will write the spoken text
  3. Notes: in the right column you can put additional remarks, for example props you should bring during the shoot or a specific note for the editor during post-production.

In this way you build your story and at the same time you find ways to illustrate your spoken text with relevant images, graphics and supporting text. When creating your three-column script, you will be able to see immediately if you are hitting the right balance between text and visuals.
