It is with great sadness that Leiden Law School has learned of the sudden death of Professor Aart Hendriks on 9 February 2025.

Now the number of people with COVID-19 is increasing and we are faced with stricter measures once again, the question arises whether compulsory vaccination could be allowed.

Jan Aarts will stay on as scientific director of LION for another year. He has been reappointed until 1 March 2024. His successor is already known. Sense Jan van der Molen will take over next year. He will be the new scientific director of LION until 1 March 2028.
