Call for expressions of interest Erasmus+ grant | ICM Call 2024

31 October 2023

Are you interested in a partnership with universities outside the European Union, or in exchange of students and staff with organisations beyond the EU borders? Apply for the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) grant. Let the Student and Educational Affairs Grant Department know that you are interested before 22 November 2023 by sending your 'Expression of Interest' to EduGrants@sea.leidenuniv.nl.

What is ICM?

The European Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) programme facilitates the exchange of staff members, bachelor's and master's students, and PhD candidates with universities outside the European Union. The ICM grant can be used for both outgoing (to the university abroad) and incoming (to Leiden University) staff and students. Please note, however, that outgoing student exchanges may in some cases be restricted. For more information, please contact the Grant Department.

How can I apply for an ICM grant?

The first step in applying is the internal pre-selection, which acquires you to send in an 'Expression of Interest' by 22 November.

The further steps in the application process are as follows:

  • Expression of Interest sent to the Grant Department: 22 November 2023
  • Results pre-selection available: 8 December 2023
  • First draft version: 15 January 2024
  • Final version: 7 February 2024

More information and contact

Keep in mind that each ICM project requires good coordination from both the applicant and the partner university abroad. The Student and Educational Affairs Grant Department offers you personal guidance and advice during the entire application process. Make sure to involve your faculty’s international office as well.

With questions regarding the ICM grant, please contact the Grant Department, Kathelijne Smits and Ivo Bles, at EduGrants@sea.leidenuniv.nl. More information can also be found on the grants webpage.
