Student-run software company LUdev develops your software project

30 October 2025

LUdev is a student-run initiative affiliated with the university, where final-year bachelor students, from Computer Science, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, and Informatics & Economics, work together on software projects to gain practical experience with real-world software development. The company is looking for a software project to bring to life in 2026 during the third-year bachelor course Software Engineering. You can now submit your project idea.

What to expect?

From February 2026 to June 2026, teams of around six final-year computer science students from various specialisations will carry out your software project. The teams work largely independently with a focus on a scoped MVP (‘minimum viable product’).

Each team dedicates approximately 500 hours in total, collaborating with you through bi-weekly meetings and getting guidance from experienced faculty and teaching staff to ensure alignment, quality, and steady progress. Students have experience in languages such as Python and C++, but are also quick to learn new technologies.

LUdev is seeking enthusiastic companies willing to collaborate with students and provide guidance and expertise. Projects can take many forms, including data visualization platforms, web apps, analytics platforms or other software solutions tailored to your needs.

Conditions

  • Course period: February – June 2026
  • Kick-off meeting: You should be available for an initial meeting with your team of students on 11/02/2026 (Wednesday), sometime between 09:00 and 12:00.
  • Project fee: Non-commercial projects are free of charge. For commercial projects, a fixed fee of €6.000 (excl. VAT) is used. Consider it as paying for six low-maintenance, part-time student internships with the delivery of a functional software product at completion.
  • Meetings: Bi-weekly progress meetings between your student group and a product owner from your organisation.
