After the success of the first Evening of Languages, with 350 visitors, sold‑out sessions and an 8.5 rating in the visitor survey, we are preparing for an even more ambitious edition. On 26 September 2026 we will celebrate the Day of Languages – and you can help shape what this day will look like.

Our faculty is brimming with language expertise. This was once again evident during more than thirty workshops and lectures: visitors especially praised the diversity of topics. Such fruitful collaboration between colleagues leaves us wanting more!

That is why we are looking for colleagues to join the advisory group. Would you like to contribute to a strong, interdisciplinary programme that showcases our linguistic richness to a wide audience? Then we need your ideas.

Send an email to events@hum.leidenuniv.nl and work with colleagues from across the faculty to create a powerful, innovative Day of Languages 2026.

The practical organisation is handled by a core team from Communications & Marketing, while we request input from the institutes for the content of the programme.
