Instead of using forms, you will now use BAS InSite to apply for options under the Terms of Employment Individual Choices Model. For instructions on applying, see the knowledge items in the Help Desk Portal. You will find links to these on the Individual Choices Model pages on the staff website. The information boxes in BAS InSite also provide brief instructions.

From 2026, you will have more time to apply to use your monthly salary as a source: from 15 January to 15 December. The deadlines for using your holiday allowance and year-end bonus as a source remain the same.

If you wish to offset your commuting expenses, we advise requesting this well in advance of the month in which you will start offsetting them. That makes it clearer on your payslip and prevents corrections later. You may submit one application per year using either your salary or your holiday allowance and/or year-end bonus. You may not use both for this purpose.

If you have more than one employment contract, your sources of income (salary, holiday allowance and year-end bonus) will be combined. You do not need to submit a separate application for each employment contract. If you wish to purchase or sell leave hours, this will be based on the weighted average hourly wage of all your active employment contracts.

You may need to submit more than one application for one goal: for example, if your salary, holiday allowance or year-end bonus is insufficient or if you wish to spread the amount. If you are using your holiday allowance and year-end bonus, you will need to apply for each.

You will only need your manager’s approval it you are applying to purchase or sell annual leave or increase your leave hours under the long-term savings option. There is no longer a second approver in the process.

Offsetting

You can offset a fixed sum from your salary during a particular period for the following options: a bike, a bike battery, union fees, sports membership at the USC or SportCity, purchasing leave and making extra pension contributions.

The sum for purchasing a bike battery has increased from € 750 to € 1,500.
