Share your research with the public at our science events in Leiden and The Hague
Do you like talking about your research and inspiring others? Would you like to get the public involved in hands-on science activities? Join us at our Science Market in Leiden on 3 October or the Weekend of Science in The Hague on 4 October.
Science Market – Saturday 3 October 2026 in Leiden
The Science Market is our way of celebrating the university’s close relationship with the city of Leiden during the 3 October festivities. Whether it’s an interactive experiment, a mini walking tour or a fast-paced game, the Science Market gives the residents of Leiden a chance to learn more about science. Held in front of the Kamerlingh Onnes Building, the market draws large crowds every year.
Weekend of Science – Sunday 4 October 2026 in The Hague
The Weekend of Science introduces children aged 8-12 and their parents to the world of science and technology. The event takes place at one of our buildings in the centre of The Hague. Last year’s edition was a great success, with mini-lectures, experiments and hands-on activities. Watch the video from last year to get a sense of the atmosphere.
