Join Us: European Day of Languages and Cultures 2026
After the success of our first celebration of the European Day of Languages and Cultures - with 350 visitors, fully booked sessions, and an impressive satisfaction score of 8.5 - we are gearing up for an even more ambitious edition. On 26 September 2026, we will once again celebrate the Day of Languages. Will you help make this edition an even greater success?
In addition to the Language Market (EU), UBL is now also a partner.
As in previous years, the Language Market will once again take part in collaboration with the EU. New to this edition is that the University Library will also open its doors and make use of its modern and unique collections and spaces. This significantly increases both our capacity and the number of programme components!
Get involved!
We invite everyone in the faculty to take part. With our broad and diverse expertise, the faculty has everything it takes to create an inspiring programme for the European Day of Languages and Cultures 2026. Last year’s 30+ workshops and lectures made that clear: visitors especially praised the wide range of topics. And the great collaboration between colleagues definitely left us wanting more!
Do you have an idea for an interactive workshop, presentation, or another short session (max. 45 minutes) that showcases the richness and diversity of our expertise? If you do, please share your proposal via email and help us build a strong, varied and engaging programme for a broad audience.

The practical organisation is in the hands of a core team from Communications & Marketing, while we ask the institutes to contribute ideas for the content of the programme. A sounding board group made up of colleagues is also involved to help shape an inspiring programme. Do you have a question? Send an email, and we will get in touch.
