Career Café
Career Cafés are themed sessions designed to support you with five specific aspects of your orientation and/or job application process, within and outside the Netherlands. The themes are CV and cover letter, networking, job interviews, and LinkedIn (your profile and market orientation and approach).

The five Career Cafés are interactive and combines theoretical insights with discussion, experience sharing, exercises, and feedback rounds. Depending on which session(s) you choose it will enhance your professional profiling and technical findability on LinkedIn, your search for relevant employers, vacancies and contacts on LinkedIn, your skills in networking, and your written and verbal job applications. The meetings last half a day with a drink afterwards.

- The different types of CVs for the academic world or for outside academia, both domestic and international.
- How to present your added value as a (former) PhD or Postdoc, even for non-academic roles.
- Viewing the process from a recruiter’s or employer’s perspective and understanding and navigating cultural differences.
- How to leverage AI in your job application—or when not to.
- How to analyse a job vacancy, gather relevant information, and tailor your application accordingly.

This course is an interactive workshop which combines theoretical insights with discussion, experience sharing, exercises, and feedback sessions. You will noticeably improve your CV and cover letter.
After the training there will be drinks from 17:00 to 18:00.

Participants are required to bring a (recent) CV and motivation letter, with a relevant interesting vacancy text to the workshop.
