Prospectus
Leiden University’s prospectus is the official online guide with information about our full curriculum. It covers the entire range of courses and degree programmes that students can take at our university.
The prospectus provides descriptions of all our bachelor’s and master’s programmes. For each course, you will find information about the content, learning objectives, literature and assessment methods. The central Student and Educational Affairs department manages the system; within this system, the faculties are responsible for their data.
Students can easily find courses or degree programmes in the prospectus. They can also find information about minors and exchange courses. This makes it an important tool for planning their studies and selecting courses.
From the 2026-2027 academic year, the prospectus will be developed and managed in TimeEdit Curriculum (TEC). For questions about TEC or providing descriptions, staff can contact their faculty’s prospectus editor.
From a legal perspective, the prospectus is an appendix to the course and examination regulations.
Prospectus
The Prospectus is an appendix to the Course and Examination Regulations. It is therefore important that the Prospectus should be completed correctly and in a timely fashion. In order to keep the information in the Prospectus uniform, we use a course template for entering courses. These templates are send on a yearly basis through the education coordinators. Starting with academic year 2026-2027, the Prospectus will be filled in through TEC and the templates will no longer be needed.
For questions about the Prospectus or submitting a course description please contact your education coordinator or the head editor of the Prospectus.
