LBSP Career Orientation Speed dates: tell students about your work at the LBSP

Date
Friday 11 November 2022
Time
Address
Biopartner 1 (J.H. Oortweg 21, 2333 CH Leiden)

Come and tell students about your job at the Leiden Bio Science Park!

You may recognise it: as a student, working life feels far away. What does it mean to work? How do you find out what suits you and what doesn't? To what extent do the choices you make as a starter on the labour market influence your career? Career advisors and company visits can, of course, tell students a lot about this, but someone who has experienced it themselves makes a bigger impression.

LBSP Career Orientation Speed dates

During the convivial closing drink of the Bio Science Park Excursion, the Faculty of Science and the LUMC would like to bring students into contact with alumni and others who work at the Leiden Bio Science Park for a one-off conversation about their company, job and career.

These conversations are in the form of group speed dates in a low-key setting. In addition to learning about someone's career, the purpose of these speed dates is also to teach students how to have a networking conversation. To help you, there will be cards with interesting career questions on the tables.

Do you work in the Leiden Bio Science Park?

Then we are looking for you! We would very much appreciate it if, during the closing network drinks of the Bio Science Park Excursion, you could tell students about your company, what your job entails and how your career has progressed. If you would like to do this, please register.

Bio Science Park Excursion

Since 2015, the Bètabanenmarkt foundation has been organising an excursion for students to the companies at the Leiden Bio Science Park, in addition to their major annual career event 'the Leiden Science Career Event' in the Gorlaeus Building.

Students of the Faculty of Science and of the Biomedical Sciences (LUMC) program take part on a voluntarily basis. During the excursion, they get to know a number of start-ups at the park during a morning full of presentations, after which they visit a number of larger companies and are given a tour. At the end of the day, all participants gather for a networking drink, where they can talk to alumni who work at the park. There is room for a total of 150 students from the Faculty of Science, the Biomedical Sciences program (LUMC) and Hogeschool Leiden.
