The Grant Development Team is organizing an information meeting (webinar) on June 27 about the upcoming NWO Veni call (pre-proposal) with the deadline of 5 September 2023. The Veni is for researchers who have gained their PhD within the past 3 years. It aims to provide talented researchers the opportunity to conduct independent and innovative research.

If you are eligible and thinking of preparing a proposal, sign up and find out more about the details of the call for a start (if NWO has published the call). We will include the harmonization process NWO has implemented for the Talent scheme and explain the differences between domains and changes in relation to the previous call. On top of that you will hear the ins and outs of the Evidence-based CV with the (renewed) format for Key Output and indicators. And you can learn from the experience of a former laureate and a committee member.

You can ask any question you may have. In this session we will focus on the pre-proposal submission and assessment, but we will also explain the full 2-step application procedure for all domains. At the end of the session, you will have the knowledge and insight to decide if a Veni grant is a suitable grant for you now.

Preliminary programme:

  • 13:00 Welcome and information about the call
  • 13:30 Hear from a committee member (tba)
  • 14:00 Hear from a laureate
  • 14.30 Q & A & support
  • 15.00 Closure

NWO Talent Programme
The Talent Scheme offers individual grants to talented, creative researchers. This enables them to conduct the research of their choice. The Talent Scheme has three funding instruments tailored to various phases in researchers' scientific careers.

Please register by sending an email to events@bb.leidenuniv.nl. We will then send you the link to the Teams webinar meeting. Attendance is free of charge.
