About the book

The book 'The Deep Roots of Modern Democracy' focuses on the historical origins of democratic rule, emphasising the role of geographical factors and global diffusion in fostering or blocking the spread of representative democracy around the world. As such, the book will appeal to historically oriented social scientists, political historians, and anyone interested in the origins and consolidation of democracy.
