In 2023, the 8th edition of Brave New World Conference will take place. With the theme "The Future of Attention." After 7 editions, Brave New World has become one of the most important ART-SCIENCE conferences in the Netherlands and Europe. Several Leiden scientists give lectures on their research.

 

Brave New World combines knowledge from art and science to critically examine technological developments and their impact on society. Technological developments that are happening now but also the technologies we do not have now but expect to implement in the next 50 years.

The themes of the conference are different every year. Many topics have already passed the revue such as: Transhumanism, AI, Immortality, Reality, Inequality, Trust and many more. Every year, the organisation tries to choose relevant and surprising topics with fascinating speakers who can take the audience into their world of art and science.
